The Green Dragon is a tavern on the lake in Hobbiton where tours begin.
The tavern is built in the typical old English style with timber, stucco, and thatched roofs.
It is one of only a few structures which isn't just a movie "front." Inside, you can purchase drinks and snacks.

This was an excellent place to start our guided tour because it set a high standard for ambiance and detail.

We were served scones, muffins, and hot tea. The muffin was one of the best I've ever tasted.
